LG Futures has launched a briefing service covering major government policy and funding announcements and assessing their implications for local authorities. The service includes the option of tailored support for individual authorities, looking at their figures in detail, in addition to providing generics briefings on announcements.
In the near future, LG Futures will be providing briefings on the Local Government White Paper, the Queen’s Speech, the Provisional Settlement 2007/08 and the Lyons’ Inquiry. Neil Wilcox, Director of Funding and Research, said:
“Feedback from our existing clients indicated that there was a need for well-informed, detailed briefings concerning key Government announcements. In particular, local authorities were keen to see an analysis of the key financial implications for them on an individual basis. We hope that this new briefing service will be of real value to local government and will reduce some of the burdens on its time-pressed officers”.
