Working Together to Improve Financial Management

Expertly facilitated joint action planning workshops. This will enable budget managers and finance professionals to work together to share thoughts and ideas for improving financial procedures and processes. In addition to providing decision makers with a focused action plan for improvement, these sessions are specifically designed to break down barriers and develop mutual understanding of each other’s roles and issues.

Developments in Local Government Finance

As finance officers are aware, there is currently a high volume and frequency of changes affecting local government finance and funding. This makes it difficult for finance offices to be confident that they are aware of all of the latest developments and how these relate to their particular role. Local Government Finance for Councillors

It is essential that elected Members have a sound and up to date understanding of finance, to enable them to fulfil their governance role effectively. Our trainers are skilled in explaining the impact of what can be highly complex finance issues, in a way that is readily understandable. Our training specifically focuses upon the role of the elected Member, particularly in relation to challenging financial matters, linking this back to best practice.
