LG Futures is pleased to announce that it will be working with LearningPool, the largest online public sector community in the UK, in launching Learning Pool Finance. This consists of two new finance e-learning courses for local government budget managers which start from just £6 per learner.
The first course is ‘Local Government Finance Explained’, covering where the council receives its money from; revenue and capital; the difference between the General Fund and HRA; the strategic and financial planning process; and how the council monitors spending against budget.
The second course is ‘Year in the Life of a Budget Manager’, consisting of five modules: an introduction to budget management; a summary of how local government finance and budgeting works; how to effectively construct a budget; how to effectively monitor a budget and forecast likely income and expenditure; and dealing with the year-end process. This is followed by a separate evaluation quiz.
